Inhibition of lactation for medical reasons
The inhibition or suppression of puerperal lactation where medically indicated such as after intrapartum loss or neonatal death.
BROMOCRIPTINE is not recommended for the routine suppression of lactation or for the relief of symptoms of post-partum pain and engorgement which can be adequately treated with simple analgesics and breast support. The medication will generally be prescribed in Secondary Care, although there may be occasions when prescribing the one off prescription may need to be done in Primary Care.
